If you want to use this image for anything at all; let me know. Don't just go ahead and use it without asking (read: letting me know). If you do, I'll hunt you down. If you ask, I'll probably say yes. E-mail me on petra.akm@gmail.com, or send me a message from DA. Small effort is all it takes.
Out of my kitchen window, to the east on August 20th at around 8pm. While the sunset cast a beautiful red glow on the thick clouds to the west. Such contrast, and such a pity there was no way for me to capture both in one picture...
It took me about an hour to get about three good shots of actual lightning. Most of the time you're too late, or take shots of nothing, because you thought that one great flash would come now...
I felt like a sniper the whole time; I had switched off all the lights to prevent those from ruining my potentially cool shots. Sneaking around in the darkness with my cat following me pretending to be my sidekick but getting confused about the goal (feet are still soooo interesting and sometimes move like prey).
Well, it wasn't for 'free', as you've probably read... but it was fun It took me a few storms to get a decent shot too, so keep trying!!

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
